Saturday, May 28, 2011 One-Horsepower Mower Caspian is doing his part at keeping the grass down. This is an area we've fenced off specifically for him, in which to have grass. The black flies are a real plague right now and the mosquitos are joining in whole heartedly, hence the mask he is wearing.
Friday, May 27, 2011 Summertime !!! Although the official start of summer is still three weeks away, it appears safe to proclaim the arrival of meteorological summer. Here in America, it is Memorial Day weekend, a time for remembering and honoring our veterans, both living and fallen. It is also considered the official kick-off to summer. Over the next three days, parades and barbecues will abound. I took today off to make it a 4-day weekend. With the help of a very bright, cooperative sun, some soon-to-be-iced tea is brewing. My cap is here to celebrate the resurgence of the Boston Red Sox to the top of the American League East standings. They are heating up with the summer. Go Sox!
