Monday, November 29, 2010 The Bathroom Sink Why am I showing you this image? Because it's pretty much what I saw for the first few hours after getting out of bed today. The compression valve for the cold water feed (right) decided to start leaking sometime during the night. I tried to tighten it up - bad move, turned the drip into a stream. Went below to find the shut off. There isn't one, only a single shut off for the entire house. (The home inspector pointed this out to us, I forgot) 15 mile trip to Jack's for a new one. Back home, installed, it worked. Off to work, a few hours late.
Sunday, November 28, 2010 Light Work Jason's forwarder makes seemingly light work of the white pine saw logs. Compared to a skidder, it's also much easier on both the product and the environment.
Saturday, November 27, 2010 Barn Progress A second Saturday of work on the shed/barn. The header beam is in place. Comprised of three 16 foot 2x8's joined together, it weighs approximately 300 lbs. Eric devised a clever means of hoisting it in place, utilizing his truck on one end, a step ladder on the other. A 6x6 center support beam was then put in place. Next up: roof rafters and siding.
