Tuesday, May 31, 2011 Evening Sky and Treetops A last look at the month of May from the south logging road this evening. The mosquitos were biting vigorously, the tree frogs chirped happily, and a Hermit Thrush serenaded me with his flute-like song as the sun set slowly in the west.
Monday, May 30, 2011 Memorial Day Forget-Me-Nots (Myosotis sylvatica) seemed to be an appropriate image post for the holiday today.
Sunday, May 29, 2011 Tomatoes This afternoon Lisa & I built a third raised garden bed. Afterwards, we set in a variety of tomatoe plants, including, Supersonic, Roma and Black Krim, an heirloom tomatoe that originates from the Isle of Krim in the Black Sea and is quite delicious. I also set some grape tomatoe plants in pots on the deck. Next year we will hopefully be able to start our plants from seed instead of purchasing them from the local Agway, although the prices seemed fairly reasonable.
