Saturday, November 6, 2010 "Rak the Levs" Spent a few hours of a lovely Saturday afternoon picking up leaves. The dog accompanied me...can you find him? He's the barely discernable black dot sacked out on the grass between the tree and the house. He's never been big on picking up leaves. Those of you familiar with my early childhood may understand today's title. I will not explain here, but will just say that I did not play ball. ;)
November 4, 2010 Foot-Warming Dog The old rocking chair that belonged to my Grandfather Warren is back in service after sitting in storage for four years.
October 31, 2010 Nisu or Pulla? Amidst the continued unpacking of boxes, the mowing of grass, the ordering of stuff, I managed to find some time to bake some nisu...or is it pulla? It tastes like the nisu that Tati made when I was a boy. It looks like the pulla we had in Helsinki this past summer. I have it on good authority (a native Laplander) that Nisu is from Lapland, which explains why no one in southern Finland knew what it was when I asked. There is a difference.
