Sunday, June 26, 2011 Wilderness Trail Maintenance As time permits we are maintaining the Wilderness Trail, removing low-hanging branches, a few obtrusive rocks, and a plethora of overgrown ferns. This is currently the only trail that it is safe and navigable for Caspian. Upon exiting our property it enters The Wildcat Hollow Wilderness Area, a 2600+ acre tract of unmaintained woodland that is part of the much larger 12,000 acre Andorra Forest Land Trust.
Saturday, June 25, 2011 American Chestnut A trio of American Chestnut tree seedlings to be planted somewhere suitable on the property. These were given to me by a co-worker who recently planted a number of seedlings elsewhere.
Friday, June 24, 2011 First Blossom This spring and summer are the polar opposite of last year's excessively hot and dry weather. More rain yesterday and today, and cool. Nevertheless, the summer squash are putting forth blossoms.
