Sunday, November 6, 2011 Digging In Last Sunday we were shoveling 20+ inches of snow. This afternoon, we were down in the last remaing portion of the ditch, dredging out the residual water and mud in order to hook up the water line to the faucet outside the barn. The faucet, which was successfully installed, contains a siphon which allows the water pipe to drain back into the ground, thus avoiding freezing. Lisa's rubber boots held up quite well, though her right boot became firmly entrenched in the mud and had to be removed independent of her foot.
