Sunday, December 7, 2014 This is the deer leg Baldr found in the woods yesterday, the apparent remains of a coyote kill or hunter. I stuck it up in a tree branch that I thought was high enough to be out of his reach. Obviously not, as today he disappeared into the woods again, only to reappear with his trophy. After an obligatory photo the hoof & leg was again placed up in a tree, this time hopefully out of Baldr's reach. But I know he has visited the tree at least twice today since.
Saturday, December 6, 2014 Due to the rain it was mid-afternoon before we finally made it into the woods today. Baldr immediately scented something and wasted no time - for awhile all I saw of him was his tracks. After about 15 minutes he came running back down the trail with a deer leg firmly clamped in his mouth. It was a hoof/foreleg and quite fresh. He proudly deposited it on the trail and laid down beside it. I suspect it is left over from a hunter or a coyote kill, but he found it and was he ever proud. Fuji Acros 100 in Diafine
Baldr is quite engrossed in a show about dogs with jobs on Netflix this evening.
