Saturday, September 26, 2015 Ian & I split a three of these massive cherry tree chunks today, It was all we could do to lift one on to the splitter. Buried inside one of the chunks we found a slug from a gun shot and also a metal bracket, ingrown and embedded as the tree grew around it over many years. Pretty sure that bracket is responsible for destroying the bar on the chain saw.

Saturday, July 18, 2015 Someone gave me a pony - a Kodak Pony, that is. Its working condition was unknown but all the knobs & levers were functional so I loaded a roll of cheap film. Despite my best efforts, all the shots were well overexposed, which tells me the shutter has issues. But I did manage to salvage this shot of Baldr looking rather affable for the camera.

Saturday, July 11, 2015 We struggled with the decision to remove the beautiful black cherry tree that towered gracefully over the garden and paddock. After much deliberation, Eric came today and expertly removed it. We are sad to see it gone, but plan to replace it with something smaller and safer, perhaps another pear tree to pollinate the summer crisp pear tree that grows nearby.

Friday, July 3, 2015 A wild turkey family - Ma, Pa, and at least four little ones - has been strutting around of late. I spied them this afternoon near the blueberries and managed to grab this shot. Hard to see the young ones as they are generally shorter than the surrounding vegetation.
