Sunday, July 26, 2020 Finishing up this year's firewood (left) while next year's waits on deck (right). That fellow Thoreau wrote something about his firewood warming him twice; once when split and once when burned. Makes me wonder if his process was all that simple. I'd say that with all the handling involved, my wood warms me at least seven times over, whether I want to be warmed or not. But it's that one time in winter that makes the other six all worth while.

Friday, July 24, 2020 94 frames @ 30 seconds each, stacked to comprise a 47 minute total exposure, not counting a 2 second interval between frames. I used Starstax to process the images and checked the comet feature to enhance the trails a bit. I intended a larger number of frames but my batteries had other ideas after some extended shooting. Comet Neowise was up there to the left but very faint and not visible after processing. The white star center is Polaris.
